Easter April 12, 2009

J's b-day fell on Easter this year. So we celebrated both. We went to services at NPCC followed by lunch at home. I believe this is the first time I've could Easter dinner in the 15 years that we've been together. Of course, I had a little help from Logli's deli.:)
While dinner was cooking, the boy's and I dyed some eggs. After dinner, we had an egg hunt. J hid the eggs while I stayed in with the boy's. It was a beautiful day, just a little windy and cool.

J took the boy's fishing at the state park late that evening.

Some things I've been working on!

Thursday March 5, 2009

What a beautiful day here in N. IL!!!!!! It was so nice to have 64 degree weather for a change, even if it's going to rain all weekend. I had the sunroof open and the radio blasting after work. The boy's played outside with friends after school. T has had ISATS all week and deserved a break. R has been sick for a week or so and is finally better after 2 visits to the dr. We are all looking forward to daddy returning home Sat. nite. This had been a long week for all of us.

Will we or won't we move to Mobile? Who knows. I have no idea where I'll be in 3 months, 6 months, or a year. Will the limbo ever end?!

Building assignments for next year are in the works. I keep being reminded that I may not be here next year. I cannot stop living because of a move that may or may not happen. The strain of uncertainty is stressful for the whole family.

I look forward to a visit home at Spring Break. 2 more weeks, yeh! I guess my dad is doing okay. His last visit to the VA was strange. We thought that he was having several tests, but only had an echocardiogram. What's up with that?

Happy Groundpig's Day! What a way to start off a new month. Woodstock Willie says we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Imagine that here in Northern Illinois! We were actually able to outside recess today! The kids were super excited.

We have celebrated a couple of b-days in the last 2 weeks. Nannie Mac's on the 21st and Nonna's on the 26th. NM was 77 and Nonna was 61.

My dad's second visit to the VA will be coming up on the 13th. I wish I could be there to support my mom. I have an institute day that it takes an act of Congress to get out of attending. The boys' have a 4 day weekend that same weekend. It's too long of a trip to make in such a short amount of time.

Current Sewing Project: YCMT blog quilt along
Well, I did get all of my pinwheel blocks together step 6. I've laid them out on point and cut the side triangles. I need to sew the rows together step 7. I see that step 8 has been posted and now anxiously awaiting step 9. Why when I'm not there yet?! Who knows!

SLACKER!

Jan. 22, 2009
I'm such a slacker! My New Year's resolution (one of them) is to post to this blog at least once a week or three times a month.

Yesterday was one that will go down in history. Barack O'Bama was sworn in as the first African American president and one of the youngest. I never thought I'd live to see this day.

Tomorrow my dad goes to the V.A. for a re-eval. Friday will be 7 months since his stroke. I wonder what they will say. I wish I could have been there.
